One fun thing about being a chemistry professor is going to students’ defenses! The defense is mostly a celebration of accomplishments. Sure sure, there are a few tough questions. The toughest ones are usually the ones asked with the introduction – just because I’m curious…. or I don’t know the answer to this….
Today, I attended a PhD defense. “The candidate” presented some really good results of depositing gold nanoparticles on carbon nanotubes! Some great results! I always leave a good defense smiling, especially if I liked the cookies!
