Down to the last drop….

What a fantastic weekend this was!  Sunday, Cheryl and I completed the Urban Assault Ride – Minneapolis, and it was a blast (except for the part when I ate her food… and then she got hungry… and wanted her food…  Sorry sweetie!).

After two hours of bike riding, shoe sling shots, a water slide, big wheels, bucking a ride on a bmx, more bike riding, a three legged race….  After about an hour of hanging out at the after party, at which I did the Nice Ride slow race (won a poster) and we rode the minicycles….  After chatting with bunches of people…  After having a lovely lunch at the Freewheel bicycle cafe…  And after yet a bit more bike riding…  I HAD NOTHING LEFT.

I’d been told that I should do that – do all I can do… and my body would let me know when I was all done.  Yesterday, when we got back from Urban Assault, I put our bicycles away… and laid down in the back yard… listened to Cheryl chat with the neighbor…  maybe dozed a tiny bit…  until I got bit by something.  My comment?  I’m all done.  Right now.  This very instant.  All done.  Deep feeling of tired happiness.

Then, I took me a nap.

And then my friend Heather – who now lives in Florida (pout) – came, and we spent several low key hours hanging and chilling and talking… and it was grand.  And we ate pad thai and kung pao tofu from the coop – YUMMY!

Man Lee, I’m so happy to hear this amazing news. You are a true fighter, and I’ve never, ever seen the likes of you (and hoping those cancer cells have no ideas what’s going on)!!! I hope you continue to feel well, but more importantly, suck all the life out of the times that you do. Did I mention to you that one of the surprising things about cancer, is that it makes life so much sweeter. Hugs!
